i just posted this video under one of my recent entries, but i have to put it out on the blog.

I was born in 1978. i don't remember a whole lot from the 70's. Certain music, when i hear it, will bring me that far back in my mind, but not a whole lot. Basically Carole King's Tapestry album, and Marvin Gaye's What's Going On? album. When i hear those, i can literally see the 70's. i have a (somewhat) photographic memory... TV shows that bring me back to the 70's are Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, 321 Contact, Romper Room, The Brady Bunch and The Electric Company.

I don't think i was very interested in the shows my parents watched in the 70s or 80's, but as a toddler, i can remember my mother watching the TV show FAME.. and i LOVED the theme song... so without further adieu, i give you FAME!

yes. sesame street is probably one of the best tv shows of all time. i mean, first you got jim henson, so it's already gold, but then add in the fact that the show was designed to target inner city children- not to sell them some bullshit and tell them they need to buy buy buy, but to actually TEACH them.. these kids who were less likely to get a decent education or time with parents to teach them... and god... i mean ernie and bert, big bird, snuffy, grover, oscar the grouch, telly, mr. hooper, the whole mr hooper death thing... i mean, the writers of that show literally sat down and decided that they needed to be HONEST to their viewers, even if they are very young, and death is real and they tackled that so well. my grandmother died not long after that episode and i understood when they said she was not coming back.
did you know they made a special episode after 9/11 where big bird's home was destroyed? i have never seen the episoe. i wish i could get my hands on that one
