Dec. 16th, 2007 07:44 pm (UTC)
thanks. i was thinking i should go out and clean off my car a bit before it all turns to ice, but i don't wanna get sicker, so i'm hoping the explorer will be less likely to get stuck than my old little car.
what are you doing for fun today?
Dec. 16th, 2007 08:13 pm (UTC)
Awww, yeah. That would suck! Do you take vitamin C or probiotics. Knock on wood I haven't gotten sick yet and I usually am by now.

Nothing. Cleaning. BLECK. Right now I'm procrastinating. Because well, it's quite overwhelming, lol.

Anything fun in store for you?

i am watching the movie Saving Face on the Logo (gay) channel. It's a really good movie about a lesbian Chinese American surgeon who hides her sexuality from her traditionalist mother until her mother comes to live with her because she has a secret she is hiding from her even more traditional father

Oo, that sounds good! Have you ever watched Better than Chocolate? It's like....one of my most favorite movies ever.
Dec. 16th, 2007 09:54 pm (UTC)

Dec. 16th, 2007 10:46 pm (UTC)

Dec. 18th, 2007 05:15 am (UTC)
hope you get better soon hon! i'm a tea freak to help combat flus/cold myself.

derailed... i'll check it out to see what it's about
Dec. 18th, 2007 05:29 am (UTC)
tea is a good idea... mmm. i think lapsang oolong. you ever had that? thats my favorite... and matte latte
what tea do you like best?
Dec. 18th, 2007 05:55 am (UTC)
brown rice tea, when i tried it once, and hmmmm chai & toasted green tea, yum!
Dec. 18th, 2007 07:31 pm (UTC)
oh yeah, i forgot about rice tea. that is good although i dunno if i tried brown rice tea. i may have tried toasted green tea. if not, i bet i would like it. i like some chai, but it depends. i tend to prefer chai powder that you just add water to than actual home made chai cuz i dont really like adding milk or cream to tea.
my cat is being a spazz.
Dec. 19th, 2007 03:00 am (UTC)
lolz... i luv it when cats act all craygee.

yeahm the chai mix is def simpler to prepare... i try to avoid dairy too for the most part... rice milk is alright, chocolate almond milk's da bomb... ever seen so many diff teas n nondairy stuff. spoiled around here with 2 diff health food stores that accept food stamps, n
Dec. 19th, 2007 07:22 am (UTC)
thats cool. yeah, there are a lot of health food stores in western mass cuz its full of hippies. i have thought about moving out there. i think i am more of a small rural town person than a big city person.

yeah, it was a beyatch to get housing in south county of the berkshires, since that's where all the trustafarians live, you know the rich slummers. i landed there cuz that's where i knew some of the few people that lived there who were working class and where i did some activism after college there. north county is way cooler in terms of a more down low vibe, plus with lots of artistic happenings. north adams definitely has more affordable housing, and it's where there's a whole bunch of artists' galleries and Mass MOCA, plus the college MCLA. if i can i'm going to try to move there from gt. barrington (which is kinda snotty/unavailable cuz of the money), don't know what the HUD housing waiting list is like tho.
Dec. 20th, 2007 01:32 am (UTC)
yeah... housing is so crazy. thats part of why i'm afraid to move. i have a good deal here but i wish there were some people who didn't know where i live and some of my neighbors are shady, but thats part of how it is when you have government housing... as i'm sure you know.
i'm watching something on tv and they are talking about Exile on Guyville by Liz Phair. Have you heard that album? it's a good one
Dec. 20th, 2007 02:26 am (UTC)
yeah, housing is whatever you get on section 8. right now i feel lucky, after dealing with some major slum landlords, abandoned housing, trailer park for most of my life. currently my landlord dissed me a few times in the past summer, but fortunately the place i'm in right now is in stellar shape compared to my experiences after i left my mom's house as a teen.

that's why part of me wants to move, but i also don't want to deal with what could be worse. for the most part here, it's quiet except for the people across the way, about twice a week in the summer they get smashed and fight. and thankfully no rodents or pests seen in the past six months, which is a miracle for any housing i've lived in ever.
Dec. 20th, 2007 03:34 am (UTC)
yeah. i know i have it good in this place cuz i have (knock on wood)never seen a rodent here. i did have roaches a couple times but none as of lately (knocks again). also there is a bus stop directly across the street (pretty much) going straight into the city and to the commuter rail and T. it is in walking distance (less than 2 blocks) from a convenient store and a wallgreens... and dunkin donuts of course... we are in boston after all...
it's a good size place with lots of lighting and heat and hot water are included in rent... it's quite a nice deal. i'm afraid if i move i'll be worse off
Dec. 20th, 2007 03:35 am (UTC)
i know i'll be worse off in boston in this economy in 2007... i'm lucky i got this a few years back when i did
Dec. 20th, 2007 04:28 am (UTC)
right on i hear you... no place is perfect but where i am it's little to bitch about aside from being shut in a little during the winter. it's easy to keep myself busy though for 2-3 days stints and then get out for shopping or out with a friend.

nice that you got a good deal in rent. mine's with everything is a little over a third of my ssdi in the winter and about 1/4 in the summer because of electric covering the heating bill. not bad.
Dec. 20th, 2007 05:08 am (UTC)
that sounds pretty good. i'm gonna go to bed soon. i had a late night last night. peace
Dec. 20th, 2007 12:56 pm (UTC)
yeah i was pretty wiped too and went to bed shortly after that message... hope you got some good rest :)
Dec. 20th, 2007 10:43 pm (UTC)
yeah. i think i got too much rest actually. i sort of slept til 5pm. ha ha. oops. that was like 16 hours... eek. i must have been tired... well i have been hanging out with people and going out almost every day for a few weeks and that is the most in years so that may be part of it too. did you get a good rest?
Dec. 20th, 2007 11:59 pm (UTC)
thanks for asking... i didn't sleep that well, only 6-7 hours... but i managed to take a 2 hr or so nap. still might try to go to bed early, we'll see if i get a second wind lol
Dec. 21st, 2007 12:00 am (UTC)
