i liked it. its really kind of distubing. but you are mrs hannibal, so you can probably handle it. (;
its been a while since i've seen it, but it has a lot of great actors and great acting.

thank you, but really? there are a lot of disturbing movies out there that don't sit well w/me.
the sixth sense bothered me for ages, i had nightmares for days about hannibal rising, and don't get me started on whatever happened to babyjane - i can never watch that movie again.

i was just teasing about the name... and you have that sick sense of humor (:
i have only seen hannibal and silence of the lambs from that series of stories. i would like to se the others, but havent gotten around to it. i've never seen what happened to baby jane. is that a roman polanski movie?
hannibal grossed me out. i sawe it in the theatre and my friend siting beside me laughed her ass off during the head eating scene. i was just staring between her and the movie and was overwhelmed. that scene was so icky.

i've seen a lot of movies in my time - some incredibly disturbing and some not. but this movie really gets to me on such a deep level. i've only seen it once and that was enough.

as for hannibal rising - the scene that got to me was when he was dreaming about the blood on the ground and everywhere. just bothered me.

thanks for the links.

i've seen a lot of movies too. i love movies.
the blood on the ground thing you mentioned reminds me of a poem by jim morrison... it may have been a song too. "blood in the streets and it's up to my knees, blood on the sidewalks..." i forget how it goes actually, but i used to read Jim Morrison's poetry. Do you like him or the Doors?

i looked at the links for that movie. it sounds terribly creepy. i think i'll not see it. i think it would disturb me too much. eek.
i can't watch a clockwork orange. have you ever seen that? there is a scene or two in that movie i can't watch. once was enough for me on that one. i always feel like as a movie lover i am supposed to love that movie but i dont. i really dont even care for stanly kubrick except for the shining.

oh, gosh! don't think for one minute that simply becaue you love movies - you have to like/love/adore/worship the classics.
i don't.
i can't stand clcokwork orange.
didn't really like the book, and after awhile, the movie just simply annoyed me.
CAN. NOT. STAND. brokeback mountain.
also, if i see that retarded-ass movie again, titanic - it will be the death of me.
Aug. 3rd, 2008 04:47 pm (UTC)
he he.
i actually like titanic but am a little embarassed of that fact.
brokeback mountain doesn't interest me for some reason. i guess i never really was into cowboy movies and having it be a slow romance made it sound even less appealing.
i nev er read clockwork orange. there are very few movie books i've read cuz i don't read a lot. the only books i read before seeing the movie were Girl Interupted and Bridge to Terabithia. I read Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe after seeing the movie. i should read more but the ADD kicks in and i just have such a hard time reading a book.
do you like to read? have you ever heard of Michelle Tea? i only read one of her books but i met her and i love her talent. She actually lives out near you right now i think but is originally from Chelsea MA (right near Boston). I read her book "The Chelsea Whistle". i highly recommend it.
